  • (19 December 2006) Following continued Mission consultations with the Iraqi Government, it is clear that support for the Mission remains unanimous. The Head of Mission is reassured that the Mission continues to add value to rule of law reforms and that its contributions are compliementing overall Iraqi and International Community efforts.
     
  • (10 December 2006) The first ever Penitentiary Work Experience Secondment and the first single discipline Penitentiary Course of the extended Mission have been successfully concluded. In total 26 senior penitentiary officials from the Iraqi Correctional Services were trained in European best practice, and, all students have since safely returned to Iraq.
