Invitation letter by President Donald Tusk to the EU heads of state or government for a meeting with Turkey
European Council President Spokesperson
At our recent meeting in Malta, we discussed relations with Turkey and invited the Commission to continue negotiations with Ankara with a view to adopting a joint Action Plan. In the light of a positive recommendation of the Commission, I have now decided to call a meeting of the Heads of State or government of the EU with Turkey this coming Sunday (29 November). The meeting will mark an important step in developing our relations and contribute to managing the migration crisis.
Proceedings will start at 16.00 in the Justus Lipsius building. After listening to the President of the European Parliament we will go for a group photo. We will then have our working session with Turkey. The meeting will end at around 19.00.
I very much look forward to seeing you and having a productive discussion with our Turkish counterpart.
