The rules for the adoption of the MFF package
The legislative acts of the 3 parts of the MFF package (MFF Regulation, own resources, sector specific acts) are adopted according to different rules, depending on the legislative act.
* At first reading the European Parliament and the Council have no time limits for adopting their positions.
** At second reading the EP decides by a majority of its component members. This contrasts with EP votes at first and third reading where it decides by a majority of the votes cast.
