The European Space Agency (ESA) has sites in several European countries, but the European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, is the largest. ESTEC is ESA's technical heart, where most projects are born and are guided through the various phases of development.

The Library and Research Sector attended the workshop on the 'Impact of referenda on parliamentary democracy', in the framework of the PADEMIA project. The workshop was an opportunity to look into the interaction of plebiscitary and parliamentary democracy, with reference to the recent developments in the UK as well as the consequences of the Brexit vote for both the UK and the EU.

During our trip to London, the Library team visited the Senate House Library, which is the central Library of the University of London and the School of Advanced Study. Its collections support academic research across 14 main subject areas in the arts, humanities and social sciences, and it is also home to unique special collections, rare books and archives.
