EU relations with Azerbaijan are based on the EU-Azerbaijan Partnership and Cooperation Agreement, in force since 1999. The EU is the main investor in Azerbaijan and its largest trade partner.

The Eastern Partnership (EaP) aims to strengthen and deepen the political and economic relations between the EU, its member states and the six Eastern European partner countries. It also supports sustainable reform processes in the partner countries.
