The Council has adopted an implementing decision authorising the first regular payment of grants and loans under the Ukraine Plan of the Ukraine Facility.

The Council adopted restrictive measures targeting the Belarusian economy, in light of the regime’s involvement in Russia’s illegal, unprovoked and unjustified war of aggression against Ukraine.

The Council imposed restrictive measures against two individuals and four entities responsible for actions undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.

On 27 June, the European Council adopted conclusions on Ukraine, the Middle East, security and defence, competitiveness, other items, the next institutional cycle and a roadmap for future work on internal reforms.

Before the start of the European Council meeting of 27 and 28 June 2024, European Council President Charles Michel and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the press.

President Michel invited the members of the European Council to the meeting of 27-28 June 2024 in Brussels where they will focus on the next institutional cycle, Ukraine, Middle East, security and defence, competitiveness, and other items.

The EU held the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Conference at ministerial level to open accession negotiations with Ukraine.

The Council approved conclusions on a homogeneous extended internal market and EU relations with non-EU Western European countries and with the Faroe Islands.

The Council extend the temporary protection for more than 4 million Ukrainians who fled from Russia’s war of aggression.

The Council imposed restrictive measures on an additional 69 individuals and 47 entities in respect of Russia's continued war of aggression against Ukraine.
