The Council imposed restrictive measures on 22 high ranked members of Belarusian military personnel in view of their role in the Belarusian involvement in the Russian aggression against Ukraine, and introduced further restrictions in the trade of goods between the EU and Belarus.

The Council today introduced a SWIFT ban for certain Russian banks, the prohibition to participate in projects co-financed by the Russian Direct Investment Fund, and to export euro denominated banknotes to Russia.
