G7 Leaders’ Statement, 11 March 2022

On 10 and 11 March EU leaders adopted a declaration on the Russian aggression against Ukraine, as well as on bolstering defence capabilities, reducing energy dependencies and building a more robust economic base.

On 10 March 2022 EU leaders adopted a statement that addresses the Russian military aggression against Ukraine.

The Council adopted additional sectoral measures targeting the Belarusian financial sector and the export of maritime navigation goods and technology to Russia.

The Council today adopted an implementing decision introducing temporary protection due to the mass influx of persons fleeing Ukraine as a consequence of the war.

The EU issued a declaration condemning in the strongest possible terms the unprovoked invasion of Ukraine by armed forces of the Russian Federation, and the involvement of Belarus in this aggression against Ukraine.

The Council agreed on a package of measures to respond to the decision by the Russian Federation to proceed with the recognition of the non-government controlled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts of Ukraine as independent entities, and the ensuing decision to send Russian troops into these areas.
