At the coronavirus pledging event, European Council President Charles Michel pledged for an acceleration of the development, manufacture and delivery of vaccines, tests and treatments to everyone, everywhere, at an affordable price.

The members of the European Council and the Member States of the G5 Sahel, adopted a joint declaration in order to reaffirm their joint commitment to the security, stability and development of the Sahel.

Presidents Michel and von der Leyen and the President of the G5, Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, held a video conference between the EU and G5 Sahel leaders, with the participation of the United Nations and the African Union Commission.

Presidents Michel and von der Leyen participated in a G7 Leaders’ videoconference convened by the US G7 Presidency.
