The Secretary-General is responsible for the overall organisation of the GSC.
The Directors-General are in charge of management and development of services, or policy areas of the various Council configurations. They ensure that the work of the Council is conducted in a manner that is efficient, coherent, and consistent with the overall objectives of the EU. They also provide policy and procedural advice as well as practical support to the President of the European Council, the Council, its members and its presidency.
