The course is set for 2030 target, which is the reduction of at least 40% greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 compared to the 1990 levels.

In 2017, the EU already reduced green house gas emissions by 22%, which means we surpassed the target of 20% reduction by 2020.

The EU's predicted reduction by 2030 is 45%, which is also higher than the commitment under the Paris Agreement (40% reduction) compared to 1990 levels.

EU's long term strategy to be submitted by 2020.

Keep global temperature increase to well to below 2°C and pursue efforts to limit to 1.5°C.
