The Foreign Affairs Council with defence ministers took place in Brussels and was chaired by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas.

EU support to Ukraine

The Council discussed EU military support to Ukraine, with a focus on cooperation in defence innovation, after an informal exchange of views with the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov, who was present in person.

After the Foreign Affairs Council, ministers informally exchanged views on the security and defence outlook for 2026 over a working dinner.
