EU- Brazil summit, Brussels, 24 February 2014
The EU was represented by Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council, and by José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission. Brazil was represented by President Dilma Rousseff, and she was accompanied by Foreign Minister Luiz Alberto Figueiredo.
They reaffirmed their shared commitment to the values and principles of democracy and the rule of law, respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms, the promotion of sustainable development with social inclusion, and the promotion of international peace and security.
