The 36th issue of the Think Tank Review is out now. It references papers published by think tanks in May 2016. The special focus of this edition is on the United Kingdom and the European Union.

The Library has prepared a note listing a selection of recent books (2014 onwards) on migration issues.

On 15 June, the General Secretariat of the Council (GSC) organised an information session on the Council's Library Resources for the Slovak Permanent Representation to the EU.

Written during his time as President of the European Council, Herman Van Rompuy's book-length essay Europe in the Storm offers an insight into the machinations of one of the highest levels of the European Union during some of its most unstable years.

The Library recently attended the conference "Terror, Asymmetric Conflicts and Failing States: European-Israeli Dialogue on National Security and Regional Stability" at the Bibliothèque Solvay.

New legislative elections will be held in Spain on 26 June 2016. Early May, King Felipe VI of Spain signed a decree to dissolve the Parliament and hold a rerun of national elections.

Representatives of the European Documentation Centres (EDCs) from the Member States made their way to Brussels for a training seminar on 2 and 3 June 2016 which the EDCs with practical input for their work on the ground.

During the Library team's trip to London, visits to several bookshops gave an overview of what was being published on the EU referendum. One predictable result was to confirm that a spate of new books have been published on Britain's relationship with the EU.

One of our colleagues has contributed to the publication "Britain's future in Europe: the known plan A to remain or the unknown plan B to leave" by the Centre for European Policy Studies, included in issue 34 of the Think Tank Review.

On 1st July 2016, the Slovak Republic will take over the Presidency of the Council of the EU. It will be at the heart of the events and developments shaping the future of the European Union.

During our trip to London, the Library team visited the Senate House Library, which is the central Library of the University of London and the School of Advanced Study. Its collections support academic research across 14 main subject areas in the arts, humanities and social sciences, and it is also home to unique special collections, rare books and archives.
