This document was issued for around two to three years only before being replaced by AUT-GO-01002 (the exact date of first issue is not known). The only change was that the offset printing technique used for the serial number "A" was replaced with letterpress.
The vehicle registration certificate (Part I) must be carried on all journeys. It contains data concerning the vehicle and all relevant formal obligations. It is not an identity document.
Parts I and II must always be handed in when the vehicle is taken out of circulation, when data are amended, rectified or supplemented, when a vehicle is registered to or de-registered from an exchangeable registration plate, when a replacement registration plate is assigned following theft or loss, when a personalised registration plate is assigned while the registration is still valid, and when damaged vehicle registration certificates are re-issued.
If the vehicle registration certificate (Part I) is lost or stolen, a duplicate is issued for the lost part (Parts I and II may therefore have different serial numbers).
The document is folded three times.
