The LMA card contains digital information on the period of validity and the right to work ("AT-UND"). One card can be used for the whole duration of asylum, and the validity is extended at the Swedish Migration Agency. The card only needs to be replaced if there is a change to the biodata. The LMA card includes a QR code which can be scanned using a smartphone, for example. This makes it simple to check whether the card is valid and whether the holder has the right to work.
