New books added to the Library collection - November 2018

The festive season is almost here and it's an ideal time to catch up with some reading as the days get colder. To help you on your way, take a look at the list of new books in the Council library.

The list comprises ten books in total, but we would like to focus on three of them in particular.

  1. Bilateral diplomacy and EU membership

In her publication, Sandra Sonnleitner deals with the question of how membership of the EU influences and changes national bilateral diplomacy.

  1. The people vs. democracy

In this book, Yascha Mounk shows that trust in politics is dwindling. Citizens are falling out of love with their political system. Democracy is wilting away. Drawing on vivid stories and original research, Mounk identifies three key drivers of voters' discontent: stagnating living standards, fear of multi-ethnic democracy, and the rise of social media.

  1. The EU's policy on the integration of migrants: a case of soft-Europeanization?

This book discusses a largely ignored theme in literature and stands alone in examining the European Integration Fund. The book delves into an entire policy cycle, connecting the dots between the different aspects of EU integration policy.
