The EU-UK Summit will take place on 20 November 2026 in the Europa building in Brussels.

The President of the European Council, António Costa, will travel to Montreal, Canada, for the 21st EU-Canada summit on 29 and 30 October. He will represent the EU together with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. Canada will be represented by Prime Minister Mark Carney.

The Council agrees its negotiating position on the regulation for the post-2027 common agricultural policy, aiming to support a more competitive, sustainable and resilient EU agriculture sector.

Today the Council adopted a set of decisions mobilising funds for Ukraine under the European Peace Facility. These decisions will allow for the partial reimbursement of previously delivered military aid and provide additional financing for the EU Military Assistance Mission in Support of Ukraine.

On 22 October 2026, European Council President António Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen held talks with President of Viet Nam Tô Lâm in Brussels on bilateral cooperation, regional security and global challenges.

President Costa and President von der Leyen received letters of credence from nineteen new Ambassadors to the European Union.
