Four EU operations are patrolling the Mediterranean to secure EU borders, target migrant smugglers and rescue migrants at risk.
- Operation Indalo: 103 669 rescued
- Operation Themis (including figures from former Operation Triton): 295 538 rescued
- Operation Poseidon: 130 981 rescued
- Operation Sophia: 44 916 rescued
Starting date of each operation:
- Operation Sophia: 01/06/2015
- Operation Poseidon: 01/01/2016
- Operation Indalo: 03/05/2017
- Operation Themis: 01/02/2018

**Operation Sophia was terminated as of 31 March 2020. During its operation 44 916 persons were rescued.
