Relations with the UK

How the EU and UK work together to protect citizens' rights and and strengthen cooperation.

The United Kingdom (UK) is a former EU member state that left the Union in January 2020.

Following the UK's withdrawal, the EU-UK relationship is governed by agreements that ensure the respect for citizens' rights, fair competition and continued cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
