EU system of financial supervision
The European System of Financial Supervision (ESFS) consists of micro-prudential and macro-prudential supervision.
The macro-prudential supervision is executed by the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB).
The micro-prudential supervision is executed by the Joint Committee of European Supervisory Authorities, comprising:
- the European Banking Authority (EBA)
- the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA)
- the European Securities Markets Authority (ESMA)
The foundation of the European System of Financial Supervision is made up of the National Competent Authorities (NCAS).
