The vehicle registration certificate (Part II) is combined with the vehicle approval certificate or approval document by the registering authority; it does NOT have to be produced during a check.
Parts I and II of the vehicle registration certificate must always be handed in when the vehicle is taken out of circulation, when data are amended, rectified or supplemented, when a vehicle is registered to or de-registered from an exchangeable registration plate, when a replacement registration plate is assigned following theft or loss, when a personalised registration plate is assigned while the registration is still valid, and when damaged vehicle registration certificates are re-issued.
If the vehicle registration certificate (Part I) is lost or stolen, a duplicate is issued for the lost part - Parts I and II may therefore have different serial numbers.
