All Croatian citizens are entitled to a Croatian identity card. Citizens aged 18 and over whose declared place of residence is in the Republic of Croatia must obtain an identity card. Minors aged 16 and over whose place of residence is in the Republic of Croatia, and who have obtained court permission to marry in non-contentious proceedings and have got married, must also obtain an identity card. The identity card may also serve as a travel document for travelling to countries which allow this.
