Main results
The European Union Military Committee met at the level of EU Chiefs of Defence (CHODs). General Claudio Graziano chaired the meeting.
The High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy addressed the Committee.
EU Chiefs of Defence discussed the EU's military operations and missions, including EUNAVFOR Operation Sophia and Operation Atalanta.
They also discussed EU battlegroups as well as EU military capabilities.
The Defence Chiefs also discussed the state of play of EU-NATO cooperation. They were briefed on NATO activities and the implementation of the common set of proposals.
Representatives form partner countries also contributed to the discussion.
They were also updated on the current security situation in Ukraine.
Finally, Defence Chiefs addressed the latest developments in digitalisation and artificial intelligence, and the implications for military operations.
