Statement by the High Representative on behalf of the EU on the alignment of certain countries with Council Decision (CFSP) 2024/1019 concerning restrictive measures directed against certain persons and entities in view of the situation in Iran

On 4 April 2024, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2024/10191 amending Decision 2011/235/CFSP concerning restrictive measures directed against certain persons and entities in view of the situation in Iran.

The Council Decision updates the entries concerning 17 persons and removes the entry concerning one entity designated in the Annex to Decision 2011/235/CFSP.

The candidate countries North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, Ukraine, Republic of Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina2, as well as the EFTA countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, members of the European Economic Area, align themselves with this Council Decision.

They will ensure that their national policies conform to this Council Decision.

The European Union takes note of this commitment and welcomes it.
