Every year the Council Library marks World Book Day with something special. This year Council trainees chose to focus our attention on a theme relevant to all aspects of life - courage. For 23 April this year they have compiled a reading list on this theme from all 27 EU Member States and have also made a short video.

The moment for Europe to define itself as a power; the enlargement process and the unity of the continent; food security in the context of the war in Ukraine; energy security and the prevention of shortages; how hydrogen can help the EU move to a net-zero economy; the advantages and disadvantages of the majority voting regarding the Common Foreign and Security Policy; the transatlantic unity; and how to avert major power war are some of the topics covered in the March Think Tank Review."

This year’s International Women's Day campaign theme in many parts of the world is centred around the theme of embrace equity. Its goal is to encourage discussion on why equal opportunities are not enough. As such, the Council Library has compiled a library guid of resources on gender equity to help readers gain a deeper understanding of that subject.

One year has passed since Russia’s illegal, unprovoked military aggression against the people of Ukraine began. Over the past year the Council Library has compiled several products that can help give a deeper understanding of the ever-evolving situation in Ukraine.

The evolution of the neutrality principle of several European states following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the added value of the participation notably of European citizens in the Conference of the Future of Europe, the 30th anniversary of the European single market, the state of economic convergence in the euro area, the digitalisation as an enabler for the clean energy transition, the multipolarity in the 21st century, how to rebuild Europe’s security architecture, and the multiple challenges of global trade in 2023 are some of the topics dealt with in the February Think Tank Review.

To mark the anniversary of the signing of the Maastricht Treaty the Council Library has compiled a Library Guide of relevant and authoritative resources. It contains a selection of available resources delineating the various facets of the Maastricht Treaty.
