Eureka

The Council libraries are pleased to present Eureka - the new gateway to their information resources and knowledge base.

Use Eureka to explore the Council library collections and subscribed resources, alongside open-access collections which have been specially selected by the librarians to support work within the Council.

On the Eureka homepage we have highlighted the Council Library and Research specialist collections which are of particular interest to researchers:

• The Council bibliographies - our  collection on the European Council, the Council of the European Union and the General Secretariat of the Council, providing a comprehensive overview of how these institutions have been studied during the last 50 years.
• The Think Tank Review - our monthly round-up of EU-related papers published by think tanks across the world, selected by the Council Library and Research sector.  

Eureka is easy to use. The simple search delivers results rapidly for anyone in a hurry. Explore the entire range of our resources or narrow down your search to particular collections.  By applying a variety of search filters, you can easily find the most relevant material to suit your needs.

Who can access Eureka?

• Everyone can search as a guest. You will find a link on the Library and Research page on the Consilium website. Please note, however, that full access to subscribed electronic resources is available only within the Council network or the Consilium Wi-Fi.
• Council staff and member state delegates (if already registered as users) can sign in to Eureka with their EU login credentials and request resources in accordance with Library policies.
• Staff of other EU institutions are welcome to become registered users and to borrow material directly from the Council Library in accordance with our borrowing policies. They can search Eureka online but must visit our reading room to register and to borrow material.
• External researchers can explore Eureka as guests, without signing in, but must request a visit to the Council Library reading room to consult restricted resources. Researchers can also request some of our resources on inter-library loan via their own university library (the Council libraries do not lend material directly to external users).

Eureka replaces the Council Library Catalogue and the e-resources portal Claro, combining the best features of both systems into a new, powerful resource-discovery service. It is mobile-friendly and accessible on any device.
