9 April Improving accessibility to products and services for disabled and elderly people: Council adopts the accessibility act
The Council adopted the accessibility act, following the vote by the European Parliament on 13 March 2019.

8 November More accessible products and services for EU citizens: provisional agreement
The Council's Permanent Representatives Committee approved the provisional agreement on the European accessibility act reached with the European Parliament on 8 November 2018.

7 December Accessibility for products and services: Council agrees its position
The Council agreed its position (general approach) on the accessibility directive. This legislation will make it much easier for persons with disabilities to access products and services.

4 December Accessibility for products and services: proposal
The Commission presented its proposal to the Council. This proposal would make various products and services in the EU more accessible for persons with disabilities.
