Statement by the High Representative on behalf of the EU on the alignment of certain countries concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Haiti

On 15 July 2025 the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2025/14291 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Haiti.

The Decision adds three persons to the list of natural persons subject to restrictive measures set out in Annex II to Decision (CFSP) 2022/2319 in view of the deteriorating political, economic, security and humanitarian situation in Haiti, including escalating gang violence, the unremitting serious human rights abuses committed by gangs, and the continuing impunity for the perpetrators.

Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Moldova (Republic of), Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia and Ukraine align themselves with this Council Decision.

They will ensure that their national policies conform to this Council Decision.

The European Union takes note of this commitment and welcomes it.
