Council Library services during the summer
The Council Library will continue providing its online services throughout the summer period. You can send your enquiries and requests by email.
Our reading room (JL 02 40 GH) will be accessible to Council staff and EU member state delegates by appointment until September. You can contact the duty librarian to agree the details by sending an email via the link above. To our regret, due to the COVID-19 preventive measures we will not be able to welcome external visitors until further notice.
If you have books on loan from the Council Library, please note that all current loans have been extended until 7 September.
If you wish to return a book to the Council Library, you can either:
- drop it in the locked box outside the reading room entrance, or
- send it back by internal mail to: Council Library, JL 02-40-GH-52.
If you wish to borrow a book from the Council Library, you can either send us an email or sign into Eureka and:
- request Personal Delivery - My Office and have the book delivered to your office by internal mail, or
- request pick-up from the library and fix an appointment with the duty librarian.
We take your safety seriously! Returned books are quarantined for three days before we send them out on loan again. As a result, there may be a slight delay before you receive return notifications from our system. There are bottles of hand sanitiser in the reading room and the duty librarian will ensure that social distancing is maintained.
Our online resources – e-newspapers, e-journals, e-books and online databases – remain fully accessible, including in the teleworking environment. You can take the whole e-book collection with you on your holidays, as it is accessible from anywhere if you create an account on our Ebook Central platform (access restricted to Council staff and EU member state delegates).
You can discover our full offer in our online catalogue, Eureka, which can be freely accessed on the internet. The link can be found through any search engine or via the library webpage or the Council intranet, Domus.
Happy reading! Stay healthy and well!
