Prospects: Risks and Opportunities in 2021
As 2020 has certainly shown, it can be very difficult to predict what the coming twelve months will bring. Yet undoubtedly there are trends and developments that one can look out for to get an understanding of what life could be like in 2021, and what the potential political and policy risks will be.
What that in mind, on Thursday 26 November the Council Library invited analysts from Oxford Analytica to give a virtual presentation discussing the geopolitical risks and opportunities for 2021.
In a wide-ranging talk given by regional and sectoral experts, the analysts covered areas such as:
- What is the timeline for releasing the grip of COVID-19 on the politics and economies of core markets?
- How will the European economy perform in the next 12 months?
- Which pre-pandemic global trends have been put into reverse by COVID-19, and which ones have been given further impetus?
- In which countries and sectors are the prospects brightest?
On 15 December Oxford Analytica will once again be sharing their core forecasts for the coming year via another virtual presentation. Council staff who didn’t manage to attend our library event, as well as all Oxford Analytica subscribers, can click here for information on how to register
Oxford Analytica provides global analysis on geopolitics and macroeconomics. Council staff can subscribe to its daily analysis service known as The Oxford Analytica Daily Brief. Access details can be found in Eureka.
