European Council President António Costa met with the Presidents of European Committee of the Regions and European Economic and Social Committee on 22 October 2025. They main topic of their discussion was affordable housing.

Op 22 oktober gaat voorzitter van de Europese Raad Costa in gesprek met voorzitter van het Comité van de Regio’s Kata Tüttő, aftredend voorzitter van het Economisch en Sociaal Comité Oliver Röpke en aantredend voorzitter Séamus Boland. Hoog op de agenda staat de aanpak van de huisvestingscrisis in de EU. De ontmoeting vindt plaats in de aanloop naar de tripartiete sociale top en het debat in de Europese Raad over dit onderwerp.

De Raad wijst in zijn conclusies op de rol van omstanders en professionals bij het ondersteunen van slachtoffers en het doorbreken van de geweldscyclus.

De Raad neemt een verordening aan die de algemene kwaliteit van de op EU-niveau verzamelde bevolkings- en huisvestingsstatistieken moet verbeteren.
