The European Union (EU) and the Republic of Tajikistan held its eleventh Cooperation Council meeting on 19 November, in Brussels, and reviewed the state of play of bilateral relations, and addressed political and socio-economic developments, trade, investment and energy cooperation, as well as regional and international issues.

Der Rat hat Schlussfolgerungen zur Umsetzung der EU-Strategie für die Zusammenarbeit im indopazifischen Raum gebilligt, mit der darauf abgezielt wird, die strategische Ausrichtung, die Präsenz, die Sichtbarkeit und die Maßnahmen der EU in der Region fortzuführen und weiter zu verstärken.

Der Rat hat Schlussfolgerungen zur neuen strategischen Agenda EU-Indien gebilligt, in denen er betont, dass eine verstärkte Zusammenarbeit zwischen der EU und Indien in den Bereichen Politik, Handel, Wirtschaft, Forschung und Innovation sowie Sicherheit die Schaffung von Wohlstand und Stabilität für die Menschen in beiden Ländern fördern wird.

European Council President António Costa took part in to the 30th EU–Japan summit 2025. In his press statement following the plenary session, he emphasised the importance of strengthening EU-Japan relations, in particular in security and defence, multilateralism, and in trade and economic security.

The President of the European Council, António Costa, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, representing the EU, met Japanese Prime Minister, Shigeru Ishiba at the 30th EU-Japan summit in Tokyo, Japan. The summit provided an opportunity to show the closeness of the EU-Japan partnership, ever more important in the current turbulent geopolitical context.
