Agenda highlights

The next Foreign Affairs Council with defence ministers will take place in Brussels and will be chaired by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas.

The meeting will start at 12.00 with a lunch discussion on military support for Ukraine.

After an informal address by Evgeniy Khmara, Minister of Defence of Ukraine, the Council will focus on topics such as air defence and countering the shadow fleet.

Current affairs

Under current affairs, the Council will then be informed and exchange views about hybrid threats and the situation in the Middle East. It will also touch on the defence procurement directive.

European Defence Agency (EDA) Steering Board

The Council meeting will be followed in the afternoon by the European Defence Agency (EDA) Steering Board under the chairwomanship of High Representative Kallas in her capacity as Head of EDA.
